Local Study Survey

One of the Directions to the Board at the March 4, 2024, Annual Meeting was to have a local study on current county issues, such as green energy policies, wind, or solar.

The Board decided:

  • to gauge the interest of our membership on whether we should pursue a position statement on county issues, such as green energy policies, wind or solar,

  • to gauge whether members would be interested in participating in a local study on county issues, such as green energy policies, wind, or solar, and

  • to identify those who may be interested in serving as chair or co-chair of a local study on county issues, such as green energy policies, wind, or solar.

The Board created a survey on our website for our members to participate. The survey will close July 31, 2024. The Board will discuss the results at the August 13, 2024, Board Meeting and notify membership of next steps in the September issue of The Voter.

The survey should take approximately 2-3 minutes to complete.

Instructions

1. Login to our website

2. Hover your mouse over Get Involved (the fourth item from the left on the menu bar).

3. Select Surveys (at the bottom of the drop down menu).

4. Press the > Button in Local Study on Johnson County issues menu

 5. Complete each of the 4 pages of the survey. Be sure to include your name as well as your choices for each of the three questions on the second page of the survey.

Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, September 14 at 9:30 a.m. for our next program. The topic is "Constitutional Convention: How Are Voting Rights Affected?"

Social time is 9-9:30 a.m. Hope to see you there!

Until then, check our event calendar for Book Club meetings, New Member Orientation, or to check out Volunteer Opportunities. Every year is an election year, and many teams could use help.

If you missed our June program, Combatting Mis/Disinformation in the Political Arena, you can view it on our  LWVJOCOKS4VOTERS YouTube Channel. Our channel's new banner photo is pretty great, too!

Coffee service is essential and MUCH appreciated!
This entails arriving a bit early and starting the brew in time for all members to enjoy a cup of coffee as they share social time before our monthly program meetings.

Membership Team

Book Clubs

We have two book clubs, one is virtual and one is in person. Check out our webpage to see what we are reading, suggest a book to read, or find out when and where the next meeting is. You do not have to read the book; join us and engage in the discussion.

The Membership Team Needs Members

Our motto is to “engage, recruit, and retain” members, but we also work to give members a big hug! We welcome new members, help current members with League problems, especially the website. We are working on a process to contact former members to see what we might do better.

There are many opportunities to help out this team, from making a few calls a month, to becoming a website helper and beyond!

There are easy ways to find out more, no pressure, just a conversation. Stop by the sign in table at our monthly League meeting or email Membership@lwvjoco.org.
